Our speaker for Tuesday, February 4, 2020, will be Coleen Stice, MD, FACS, CPE. For more than 25 consecutive years, Dr. Stice has been nominated by her colleagues to the annual published list of America’s Top Doctors. Her professional affiliations include Diplomat of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons among numerous others. Humanitarian endeavors are important to Dr. Stice, who is the chief executive officer of International Medical Exchange Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization devoted to providing education to Third World physicians. Her first medical mission was to Guatemala in 1985 to provide reconstructive services to the mountain tribes engaged in civil war. In 2010 she and her team helped train doctors and nurses in Kenya. She returns each spring with a group of doctors. Dr. Stice sponsors a safe stove project with the goal of reducing the number of burns that occur in Kenya due to traditional open-fire cooking methods. She has developed a safe stove and will bring one with her for her presentation.
