As the prelude begins, you are invited to begin your personal preparation for worship.

Silent Meditation
God talks to each of us as he creates us, then walks with us silently out of the night. But the Words, spoken to us before we start, those cloudy Words, are these: sent forth by your senses, go to the very edge of your desire; embody Me.  — The Book of Hours, Rainer Maria Rilke

Choral Call to Worship — Non Nobis, Domine — Rosephanye Powell
Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name be the glory.

Call to Worship —  Psalm 33
The Word of the Lord is upright,
And all of his work is done in faithfulness!
He loves righteousness and justice;
The earth is full of the steadfast love of the Lord!
By the Word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And all their host by the breath of his mouth – let us worship God!

Praise and Adoration

Confession and Pardon

Call to Confession

Prayer of Confession
Gracious and Loving God, we come to you after another week where we have said and done a lot of things. Yet we come to You now admitting that most of what we have said was not spoken to You; we come admitting that most of what we have done – was not in Your name. We know that You are with us all the time, moving in our lives. Help us to act like it. Help us to speak to you more. Help us to do Your will more often. Give unto us a tireless desire to keep becoming who you want us to be. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Our Response to God’s Word

*Affirmation of Faith The Westminster Confession of Faith (Larger Catechism), 7.288 & 7.297
Prayer is an offering up of our desires unto God, in the name of Christ, by the help of his Spirit, with confession of our sins, and thankful acknowledgment of his mercies. The Lord’s Prayer is not only for direction, as a pattern according to which we are to make other prayers; but may be also used as a prayer so that it be done with understanding, faith, and reverence.

Almighty God, we have heard your Words and received Your call. And so it is that we offer up to You these gifts; these tithes and offerings. We pray to You, O God, that with them your will on this earth will be done and that your sheep be fed. Amen.
