The 2021 Sr. High Mission Trip is scheduled for June 13-18. The group will depart on Sunday, June 13 and travel in passenger vans to Ferncliff camp, about a 9-hour drive, located near Little Rock, Arkansas. We will depart camp on Friday morning and return to Omaha late Friday night.
Past Events & Trips:
2019 Mission Trip
SHF traveled to Oregon, Illinois June 16-22 for their mission trip. While there, the youth replaced, scraped and painted cedar on the building that they slept in and they installed windows and enclosed an outdoor pavilion with screen. Each night they enjoyed Bible Study and a campfire. For their fun day, they floated down the Rock River in tubes and had a picnic lunch.
2016 Mission Trip
On Sunday, June 5th, the Senior High Youth Group left for Clearwater Forest Presbyterian Camp in Deerwood, Minnesota for their annual summer mission trip. This year, 26 youth and 9 adults went in 3 vans and 1 truck. We return on the evening of Saturday, June 11th, exhausted and happy to be home in our own beds! We look back to see that we made a difference in the lives of others, in this case campers who will be attending Clearwater Camp this summer.
The following is a letter from the camp.
What an amazing week! What an AWSEOME group of dedicated and inspiring youth and leaders!
This past week, we had the opportunity to share our ministry with 34 amazing members of your congregation! They had the opportunity to give a week of their lives to impact our ministry which will be appreciated for generations to come!
Here are just SOME of the projects that were completed: Installation of a new bench swing circle, painted the lifeguard building, painted the archery building, painted the kayak shack, installed stone steps from our pavilion to camp area, spread gravel along the path, repaired erosion on our beach, cleaned and set up the store, planted 94 white spruce saplings, reworked a 10 x 14 paver patio, moved furniture, set up our staff lounge, cut back trees along the road, sanded and sealed our two trail head signs, sealed or painted over 25 benches, and cleared approximately one mile of trails. ALL IN FOUR DAYS!
- Over 15 gallons of paint/stain was applied
- A few (okay a TON) of stones/boulders/rocks were moved
- Five yards of gravel spread
- One yard of sand spread at waterfront
- 94 saplings planted
- Total hours worked: 952
- Value of volunteer labor: $20,944
Again, we are so thankful for your dedication to mission trips and please know that the work that was completed truly has impacted our ministry for years to come!
