Prayer of Confession
God of All Redemption, hear our prayer. We need Your help – we’re conflicted. We come to You this day and always, asking for forgiveness – yet how often do we withhold forgiveness from others. We come to you this day and always, asking for second chances – yet how often do we deny second chances to others. Grant us the courage to forgive. Grant us the strength to trust others who deserve second chances. Afford us the wisdom to know Your ways. Afford us the patience to live them out. We ask for these things in order to be Your disciples. Please, Lord, pardon us.

We believe that the Christian Church is the congregation of the brethren and sistren in which Jesus Christ acts presently as the Lord in Word and Sacrament through the Holy Spirit. As the Church of pardoned sinners, it has to testify in the midst of a sinful world, with its faith as with its obedience, with its message as with its order, that it is solely God’s property, and that it lives and wants to live solely from God’s comfort, in expectation of God’s appearance. Amen.
