CROSS CARE CONNECTIONS
Support for Life-Changing Events
Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
We love because God first loved us.
What is Cross Care Connections?
Church of the Cross is dedicated to the spiritual and emotional care of our members. In 2011, PCOC created a special outreach to care for our members, to listen and provide encouragement in a one-on-one setting. This program is known as Cross Care Connections.
If you or a loved one is facing a situation where you need spiritual and emotional support, PCOC’s hope is that you will take advantage of Cross Care Connections.
Cross Care Connections provides a personally tailored relationship with a fellow church member to walk with you at life’s most challenging times. These compassionate individuals can provide confidential support to help you navigate major life events . . .
- In the emotional aftermath of a death or traumatic event
- Following a medical diagnosis or during an illness
- After a job loss
- When you are facing a life-changing decision
- If you are feeling afraid, alone, or hopeless
- Following a major life change like a new baby or an empty nest
- When you are the sole caregiver for an aging or ill loved one
- After a miscarriage
- When you are trying to be strong for someone else
- If you are struggling with the failure of a marriage or relationship
- When you just need someone to listen

Training for Care Providers
Cross Care Connections providers complete in-depth training on issues such as listening, dealing with grief, hospital visitation, working through life transitions, and other support and caregiving topics. Providers can be partnered for a long-term relationship and on a short-term basis as needed.
The Cross Care Connections caregiving work is held in the strictest confidentiality. Only an individual’s caregiver and pastor will be aware of an individual’s participation in the program.
