God loves you unconditionally, as you are and not as you should be, because nobody is as they should be. — Brennan Manning

Call to Worship — from Psalm 98
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
       We will break forth into joyous song, and sing praises. Sing praises to the Lord;
Let the sea roar, and all that fills it, the world and those who live in it.
       The floods clap their hands and the hills sing out together; Let us join in the joyful song!

Call to Confession

Prayer of Confession
Merciful God, You call us to be disciples, to carry out your work here on earth bringing hope and peace to others.  Yet we confess that we are often idle and instead are merely busybodies who fail to do your work.  Forgive us and help us live our lives as resurrection people filled with your grace and love.  God, hear us as we pray silently for sins that weigh heavily on our hearts.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Invitation to the Lord’s Table

*Affirmation of Faith  — from The Heidelberg Catechism
Q. What is your only comfort in life and in death?
A. That I belong – body and soul, in life and in death – not to myself but to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ, who at the cost of his own blood has fully paid for all my sins and has completely freed me from the dominion of the devil; that he protects me so well that without the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, that everything must fit his purpose for my salvation. Therefore, by his Holy Spirit, he also assures me of eternal life, and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for Him.

*Sanctus (#562)  — Holy, Holy, Holy — SANCTUS (Schubert)
