PRELUDE — Prelude in G Major — J.S. Bach
As the prelude begins, you are invited to begin your personal preparation for worship.
SILENT MEDITATION
“It seems to me that if you or I must choose between two courses of thought or action, we should remember our dying and try so to live that our death brings no pleasure to the world. We have only one story.” — John Steinbeck
CALL TO WORSHIP — Psalm 84:1-4
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of Hosts!
My soul longs for the courts of the Lord; My heart sings with joy for the Living God!
Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, at your altars, O Lord of Hosts, my King and my God.
Happy are those who live in your house, ever singing your praise.
PRAISE AND ADORATION
*HYMN #626 — As The Deer — AS THE DEER
(*Please stand, if you are able)
CONFESSION AND PARDON
CALL TO CONFESSION
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty God, we confess that while we yet know that you are the bread of life, we so often seek the bread of earth. While we know that you are beyond sight and sound, we seek comfort in what we can see and hear. While we know that we belong to You and each other, we frequently are prone to become complacent and content in our collective division. Forgive us for what we have done and left undone. Help us to live into the Word, to live with the Spirit, and to live according to your will, oh God.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

OUR RESPONSE TO GOD’S WORD
*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH — from the Book of Order: F-1.0301
Unity is God’s gift to the Church in Jesus Christ. Just as God is one and Jesus Christ is our savior, so the Church is one because it belongs to its one Lord, Jesus Christ. The Church seeks to include all people and is never content to enjoy the benefits of Christian community for itself alone. There is one Church, for there is one Spirit, one hope, “one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all” (Eph. 4:5-6).
*SANCTUS (#572) — “Holy, Holy, Holy” — SANCTUS (Pavlechko)

*DOXOLOGY (#609) — “Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow” — LASST UNS ERFREUEN
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow. Praise God, all creatures high and low. Alleluia, Alleluia!
Praise God, in Jesus fully known: Creator, Word, and Spirit one. Alleluia, alleluia!
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!
*PRAYER OF DEDICATION
Lord Almighty, we know that you are the font of every blessing. We know that what we offer to you, we offer in return. We pray that our gifts are pleasing in your sight, and that with them your will be done. Amen.
